Book a contraceptive implant or removal procedure

Contraceptive implants are a common type of birth control. The implant is a small plastic rod that is inserted under the skin of your upper arm, which slowly releases a hormone called progestogen (a hormone that stops your ovaries from releasing eggs) into your bloodstream.

If it’s your first time getting a contraceptive implant, you’ll need to book a GP consultation to find out whether Implanon is right for you.

During your consultation, your doctor will talk you through the pros and cons of Implanon, potential side effects, and what to expect during and after the insertion procedure so that you can provide informed consent.

Whether it’s your first time getting a contraceptive implant or you’re planning to remove an existing implant, our team of friendly women’s health specialists are here to help.
